Sifu Keith Dwan demonstrating Fire Wheels

Fire Wheels: A Kung-fu weapon

Fire Wheels are an ancient Kung-fu weapon believed to have come to China via the Mongolians in the 13th century. They are large rings with a handle on one side of the ring, and they fell from popularity because they are difficult to hide.

From Forgotten art to Modern meditation

Though it is a weapon form, it is also meditation & moves gently like a Tai Chi form. To practice with a weapon garners confidence that is priceless, which in turn also helps us break through fear & boundaries, build strength & coordination and balance our minds & emotions.

Discover the Benefits, Build Strength & Balance

This workshop will be 3 1/2 hours and composed of two 90-minute sections with a half-hour break for lite snacks in the middle. All levels are welcome; participants will learn something special, rare, and unique to add to their practice. He has written a book about this weapon form called ” The Forgotten Weapon of Martial Arts, “which is included in this workshop’s price and has helpful pictures for remembering what you learn.

A set of practice Fire Wheels will be provided with registration. All you need are comfortable shoes & clothes to practice in.

Space is limited. Register to hold your place for this opportunity at Heart Space Om, Louisville.

About Master Bu Hong (aka Keith Dawn)

Master Bu Hong comes to us from the U.K., where he lives with his wife, Eileen. He has been training in Kung-fu since the 1970s and has traveled the world to research martial arts, earning so far the 7th-degree blackbelt and the designation of Master. In his journeys, while researching Xingyiquan Kung-fu in China, he met Bu Bingquan, the lineage teacher for Xingyiquan, and developed a friendship based on their love of the art. Keith became a student of Bu Bingquan, and after showing his passion and discipline for the art, he was chosen to officially pass down the Xingyiquan lineage and was given the Bu family name. This is one of the highest honors in Martial arts, and it is hard to describe how special it is. You can, however, experience his class and see how special it is to learn from a Master with a contagious passion for his arts.
